Privacy Policy

I am Beth Cato and I operate this website http://www.bethcato.com (BethCato.com). This page is to inform you of my policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information received from users of the site. By using BethCato.com, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information Collection And Use

I may ask you to provide me with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include your name and email address, which for example I ask for when you are submitting a comment. I retain comments on the site indefinitely because they are part of the value of the site.

Log Data

I save the information that your browser sends whenever you visit BethCato.com (“Log Data”).

This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of BethCato.com that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

In addition, I may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this data.

Communications

Visitors to BethCato.com may elect to subscribe to my blog posts via an RSS feed aggregator or by email. All of the content in the RSS feed is posted in public.

Using the Contact Form on BethCato.com will send me your name and email address, and will log additional identifiers such as your IP address. I may use your email address to engage in continued correspondence via my own private email address, but I am under no obligation to reply. Contact deemed to be spam or harassment may result in the commenter’s IP address and/or email being blocked from BethCato.com. In extreme situations, abusive comments and the personal data of the commenter may be passed along to appropriate legal representative(s) and law enforcement agencies.

The Cato Log newsletter is associated with BethCato.com and operates using MailerLite, whose privacy policy can be found here. The Cato Log is sent once a month, usually on the first Tuesday, with infrequent additional mailings to notify subscribers of book sales and new releases. By submitting your email address and checking the agreement box in the subscription form, you agree to receive The Cato Log. You are free to unsubscribe at any time using the link found at the bottom of every newsletter. In addition, you have the right to be forgotten, with your data completely removed from MailerLite’s system; initiating and verifying completion of this step requires direct communication with me via the Contact Form.

I never give your personal information to anyone else without your permission EXCEPT in cases of extreme harassment. Trolling behaviors may also nullify the commenter’s right to be forgotten, as such records may be necessary for legal purposes.

I reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time. If this is relevant to your interests, you should check this Privacy Policy periodically.
