I was born and raised in the San Joaquin Valley of California, where the crisp morning air carries a hint of manure. I began compiling my first books when I was four years old, and by the time I was ten I determined that I should be an author. Discipline doesn't always match desire, so as a teenager I didn't make much progress towards that goal. At the age of twenty, I married my sailor-husband, Jason, and began life as a Navy wife. We spent several years in South Carolina and Washington; in 2007, Jason separated from the Navy, settling us down in the subdivision-riddled deserts of Arizona.

Discipline came in the form of a masochistic annual ritual known as Nanowrimo. I began participating in 2002 and have continued every year since. My first serious novel efforts include Mouse and The Locked Door. The focus is now on Normal, a superhero urban fantasy complete at 100,000 words. My full-time employment is that of a stay-at-home mom to a feisty and sweet autistic preschooler. He keeps me busy, and in my spare moments I escape to write, edit, and research. That, or I go insane from reading The Berenstain Bears Meet Santa Bear for the third time in a single sitting.

I'm a member of the Arizona Authors Association and an associate member of the SFWA.
